Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day (EKS Day)

EKS Day logo

The first annual global EKS Day will take place Saturday, Sept. 25, to honor the legacy and continue the work of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of Special Olympics. In Minnesota and around the world, corporations, individuals and Special Olympics teams are invited to celebrate by planning grass-roots activities, or EKS Acts, inspired by Shriver's values of love, justice, faith, hope. It is hoped that these Acts will empower new fans to make a positive unifying contribution to the world. Acts could range from hosting a sports skills demonstration clinic to sponsoring an EKS day at your office to conducting an educational campaign via social media.
